Vaguely recall that 8 years ago in one of the garages in KL (forgot name, but it was one of the big ones and they were manufacturing their own dampers I think) that they had a basic damper dyno. Does anyone know the garage name? If there is a damper dyno somewhere locally, it is even more likely that there is a spring tester as well. Spring testers for testing springs from other industries are fine, making the fixtures to adapt the machine is fine. Just needs to be accurate enough in the 500-3500 lbf range assuming ~5" travel before coil bind, and plot force vs travel. Test spring is typical road car coilover spring. We will build fixtures if test spring OD or free length is not appropriate for the machine. Building own dedicated spring tester is possible but not cost effective and takes too much time for now.
Any information on either spring tester or damper dyno facility in SG or MY appreciated, thanks.
