Haha, but my cabrio can't even enter your car park leh. But seriously with a little princess a cabrio is not ideal for your needs. But the 335i coupe DCT is really yummy, slurp slurp.
Oh yah hoh, I buy your cabrio already cannot go home :p :p

Go get the 335i DCT. If need be, sell the GTI, ha ha ha.

C3P0,

Spec for recent 3 series are lower than earlier cars like 08 or 07 though price is reduced a bit.
I would suggest you visit PML for the current price and spec then compare those used units spec, you may find that the old cars are more worth it.

Happens for 5 series too.

Hi Jason8822,
Thanks, that's also the impression I get from reading the various threads - that PML is selling lower specs cars nowadays at a lower price. I can give some of these specs a miss, but some of them I will really want it. So I guess I'll have to go down PML and take a look first, and like what you said, compare them to the used units on sale. Many thanks for advice!

I see. So maybe if I can find a used 325 with idrive, with good condition, and the price is right, it may be a good deal too.

Anyway, most importantly, the car don't give me too many headaches...

I think PML has not brought in 325 with iDrive for some time, even pre-facelift. So any used 325 with iDrive are likely to be the older examples.

I see. Thanks bro. I should not look for this option when looking at 325...

Just saw your other thread - seems you can accept Y2007 reg. If so, then still an option.

Ya, that's an April 2007 325 with idrive, very low mileage...

No regrets at all choosing a used 325i with iDrive and GPS over say, a new 320i Professional, or slightly cheaper used 323i (no iDrive; detuned engine). I think the prices have (sadly) crashed in the past year - so you should be able to get a good price for a similar used car. I think they sold the Highline 325is up till December 2007, and the later ones came with Xenons also.

Thanks bro. May I know what's the price of a new 325i when you bought yours? Just need it for indicative purpose, so that I know whether a used one that I'm looking at is reasonable or not. Gam siah!

List price for the 325i Highline was 178k at the time I think, so probably around 170k after discounts? The prices collapsed when the 325i basic model started selling at 160k (or less).

kntpl bro posted the following for May 09:
E90 325i - $141k

But I think it is the basic model. Prices have indeed went down.

320 was selling $130k+ in 2007 or 2008. Now only < $110 for baseline model

Re: Serious thread on 323 - advice needed (pls no OT!)

The only addition (thought many deductions) is angel eyes :) come standard with all 3-ers (though baseline model doesnt hv Xenons)

Yup - indeed. I think there was a 10 - 15k difference between the Highline and basic model. So a late 2007 325i Highline model (with xenons) is the way to go. I wish I shopped 6 months later!

Thanks bro, I'll keep that in mind!

Ok, xenons is a must have. If not, also must mod the headlights until it looks good. Otherwise yellow bulb, looks very normal.

definitely should get a 325 with idrive. I have driven a friend's and the features on the idrive add so much more to the experience.

I'm actually getting mixed review about the idrive. It sounds like a good thing to have, but maybe at the end of the day, I won't get to use it everyday so it becomes a non-necessity at the end. But again, maybe when it comes to resale, it will be easier because future buyer may prefer idrive. Nonetheless, thanks for your link - it's a good read for info.

Acutally the iDrive is only a centralised control system for adjusting aircon and radio for our lower specced cars. The communication and navigation are useless to be frank.
The fade about it wear off after using it for some time and there's nothing special about it.

Thanks for the input bro. Gives me a clearer idea now.

May be some merit for iDrive if you intend to hook up your iPod (although the iPod system itself is not perfect).

At the end of the day I think it makes the cabin look less "bare" - in terms of checking service warnings, adjusting settings etc. The old system is more cumbersome and not traffic-light friendly, but still better than nothing IMHO.

Of course, it's a different question if you have to shell out an extra 15k - in that case it's not worth it. But if you're choosing between two cars which are closely matched on price and spec, then I'd give the iDrive some credit.

Another great input. Thanks bro. You are right. idrive deserves some credit (it is not totally useless) but if I have to fork out a lot more for it, then it's something that I can give it a miss.
(Btw, I wished I'm good in downloading music. I know nuts about iPod and MP3...)

No problem - hope you find a good bargain in a colour combination that you like!
