I read the whole forum, almost 20+ pages regarding PML servicing and alot of guys suggest to get it done by other dealers like BVO.

I will be sending my E46,318i for servicing the last time before the warranty reach at Oct, 19, 2006.

Currently having these problems,
1) battery signal light on and off somethings for 3-5 seconds when travelling on the expressway.
2) When starting the car, twisting the key that time, normally i turn and hold abit and the car will power up. But recently, I will be turn and hold for longer in order to get the power up.
3) Knocking sounds, is it normal ? I traval in JB and travel more than 140km and when the car come to a complete stop, knocking sounds can be hear from the front and back, isn't it normal ? Heat making the metal expand ? or it be can fix at service centers ?

Will you get the above-mentioned fix and check for other problems before warranty mature at Oct, 2006 or go to BVO and fix all the above and also check for other problems ?

Check your battery and alternator.

May be linked to your weak battery/alternator

3) Knocking sounds, is it normal ? I traval in JB and travel more than 140km and when the car come to a complete stop, knocking sounds can be hear from the front and back, isn't it normal ? Heat making the metal expand ? or it be can fix at service centers ?

Very normal. Different metals contracting at different rates

The only item I see that may still be covered is your alternator, if that is indeed the problem. What you can do is go to an external workshop to find out the source of your problem. If it is a warranty covered item like the alternator that's at fault (not sure if this is covered), just pay a bit of labour to the workshop for their time and go claim at PML. Rather than to pay double for a battery and leave your car for a whole day and have it scratched in the process.

wow, how u know i got my car scratched at one workshop ?

and what is a alternator ? could it be the sparkplug ?

another problem is, my E46 normally full tank with V-Power at the first 2 years can reach 520+km full tank till empty (assume 55Litres, 5Litres reserve)

But nowadays, reach 480km+, the lights for empty pop up already and I go pump, it's still 55Ltrs, means my E46 is drinking the petrol faster ?

The tyres are changed recently, could it be the sparkplug as i read some thread regarding sparkplug actually can improve FC.

actually my ride was crash at my kachang when i went for some servicing at outside workshop.

btw, if repairing at PML is expensive, then will it be adviseble to get it done at BVO or get it done at PML under warranty ?

if you were me, where will you go ? this coming Oct 29 will be my 3years warranty LAST day.

Re: Send your bimmer to PML is more expensive ?

i ask them (PML) to change rubber squeky door and they end up creating a ding on my window chrome strip. really dont know how they manage to create that ding unless they hammer it with something. but CSA is honest to change it. but i have to waste 1.5 hr of my time on the next day waiting for them to fix their boo-boo. and when a gal call up the next few day to ask me if i m satisfy with their service, i said yes, but need to compensate my wage for that 1.5hr. she didnt bother to ask how much...

if u want my opinion. i say go to BVO. instant attention by the experts there. price is competitive to PML. and they only change what need to be change. so far, good experience with them. also can try wilman2772. he is a A+++++ trader.
