Hello ppil, just booked a 318i but guess what. My colleagues n family members keep telling me that its a bad car.........

It is just not as good as it should be. 1.5 tonne with 136hp. It is not a good combi.

IMHO should wait for the new F30 due to be launched soon with the 2.0L Turbo....

F30 with 2L turbo will be badged as 325 & price @ 325.

Mazda or most Jap car is behind the European in internal combustion engine development.....Ford already unveil the latest 2.0L turbo which is now used in the Mondeo and their MPV which have good/rave review.

Jap is now putting all their bets on the Hybrid and electric cars...they may be right with crude oil slated to hit US200/barrel. Look Prius has a sister car called Lexus %%%$^&. As for Mazda nothing heard from them.....Succesor to rotary RX8 still not announced,,,,,last great car is the RX7. Like what Rodders says their engine is the weakest link.........

mine is a 2.0L so when i test drove the 318, i dun feel any difference. handling wise is better.

The 2.0L is definitely more powerful than the detuned engine of the 318. Have driven both and was very obvious to me in the difference between the two cars.

2.2L IL6 is the best.

Too bad they don't make them anymore. It's now 2.5L IL6 and from the looks of things, BMW may one day soon stop making IL6...sigh..
