Seeking advice - E90 PFL to LCI side skirt installation not aligned issue

Hi

As some of your all may know. I have changed my car fr PFL to LCI outlook after an accident....

All are ok and now is the side skirt issue. THe side skirt is not aligned and will come out a bit. The workshop is not sure whats the cause of it most like the bracket inside.


Was told one side need 4 pieces and brackets and cost abt $65 for the 4 pieces. Total need 8 for both side.

Now the workshop need some confirmation. Its confirm that the PFL & LCI side skirt bracket is different as advice fr his stock list.

Now is... Can PFL car fit the LCI bracket and make the side skirt align to the body? Any bro can confirm? izzit a bracket issue only?

Hearsay the pfl and lci side skirts are almost identical so theoretically, it should be just the brackets and clips that need to change.

Best to have a look at the old and new side skirts, brackets and clips to compare.

Managed to get your side skirts aligned?

If not, I can recommend you my workshop that did my install. Not 100% perfect but good enough

Nothing changed, workshop used back all the previous parts. What i did buy were some of those male/female retaining pins for the side skirts. Need 10pcs x each side of the car.

You can try to call Shawn / Darren from SM Spray Paint (site sponsor here), i did my car there.

See pic attached, the side skirt is quite well aligned, but if i look closely near the pillar where the two doors meet, it (side skirt) protrudes out maybe few mm, only if you look very very closely.

Hi bro,

Your left side is same as mine (i.e. two ends quite ok, but the middle part juts out few mm).

The right side seems to be worse at the rear end. Maybe you want to check with the workshop that install for you to re-check if the ends are secured properly.

Also make sure you have 10 retainer pins underneath each of your side skirts. I was in the WS earlier, and mine they used all the 20 pc of retainer pin i gave them.

For mine, this angle looks worse that it seems, actually the two ends fit nicely, just the middle part juts out a bit.

ha.. cant really see it and compare. best park side by side to compare. ha.

I have to check workshop. Not some bracket issue to solve the alignment? Unless willing to risk ard $100+ for part and labour to give it a trial...... with the so called LCI bracket?

Wait until next workshop visit, ask them to fix your right side skirts. The left side looks ok to me.

Honestly, the side skirt brackets $100 is ok. Just buy and fix it if it bothers you so much.

I am quite happy with mine and don't mind the 1-2 mm jutting out in the middle haha! As long both side is identical lol
