Hi all,
driving an e46 318i. think its call the exculsive edition, the one before the sports edition. Recently, the seat belt buckle on the passenger side had an irriating creeking sound when it is buckled up. I realise that it is cause by the rubbing of the buckle and the leather seat. Probably it is because the car has rought chameleon leather, i tried applying leather lotions but nothing helped.
Anyone encountered this problem before? Can anyone help? the creeking sound is simply irriating!! :(

HI XueXun,

yes I have that problem on the driver's side.

Mine simply went away after a while. Not sure how to help. :uhhh:

It's the seat position that causes it... Try moving slightly forward / upwards and it will just go off, else get the leather applicator and apply to the seat and it will help reducing the noise...

Guys,

There is an inexpensive solution to stop it permernantly. Go to DIY shop and purchase some self adhesive black felt pads. Stick them on the offending rubbing area and that's it.

No more sound. Moreover the felt does not cut into the leather and there is no greasy residue.

hope it helps....
