The chrome rim lip can almost never be restored to it's full chrome glory though, just to take note.
Yew Lip does a good job of minimising the effects of damage. Prices around $25 and it's an aprx 2 hr job including drying.
There is one shop in Kallang which can carry out the chrome-plating process. This is a tedious process using high-voltage, low-current electricity to deposit plating material from sacrificial anode to the lip (the cathode). Hence the cost is exorbitant - around $700 per lip.
I was exploring this with Angie (Yew Lip) when I kerbed my PGII on my previous ride. Ouch. Lan lan ended up patching up and touching up at a cost of $25 at Angie's place.
Bor, nice meeting u last Sat. On our discussion, on second thought, I think your rims can go gun-metal provided they are sprayed in light gun-metal colour. Then u dun have to worry abt chrome issues liao.
Actually, the new range of PGIIs are two pc type. Heard that you can change the chrome lips if you kerb them. Not sure if Benzline carries just the chrome portion..but no harm in asking them.
