Its a very long sad story...
I actually posted earlier in that I wanted to get a E46 PFL model. And finally I found one (COE till 2019, selling 48k). The problem is I need to sell my 1yr plus Honda stream first as i am using Maybank as same financing (onli they finance COE car) I have to persuade my wife for weeks b4 she agrees to sell off our family car. Btw I hav a 2yo son. So after viewing n test drove the E46, I love it! And placed 1k deposit. The seller gave me 2 weeks to sell my stream n get my finance approve for the E46. So i quickly post on sgcarmart. one day i went AML, walked past a dealer tat says can consign cars there. So I asked his help. He agreed. But the consign price is too low. He is a nice guy. I tot price was good nowadays but not true, or maybe i was overwelm by buying my dream car. I wan to quickly let go the stream, so I sold low to another dealer who called me,so i and top up 6k. And since tat 1st AML dealer is a nice guy, i ask him to get loan frm maybank for me and he do the rest of transfer and paperwork for the E46, so he can earn the comm.
On the nite i pass my stream to the other dealer, my wife nego wif the E46 seller to handover the car to us on the same nite as we hav no car, she agreed. We drove our last journey w our comfy MPV to her landed house, i was so excited. My wife handover 8k downpayment to her, and my wife drove the stream w my 2yo boy, i happily drive the E46. just few metres frm his house, the fan belt broke. The seller's husband agreed to repair for me, so in the end, we handover the stream, and took cab home.
The nxt day evening, i went to alexandra wif the seller's husband to collect the car, gd to go. Hwever haffway thru, broke dwn again. I called tow truck. The following day, my mech told me its fuel tank empty, but the fuel gauge spoilt, showing 1/4 left. So my mech fixed it.
That very nite, the seller wans to change her mind abt middleman (dealer). She doesnt wan dealer as she wans to deal w us directly. My wife therefore arrange the dealer n we go to her house w all necessary docs to let her sign to show sincerity. The couple were v reluctant in the 1st place as they afraid dealer wil run away w the money frm maybank. So I suggested writing a 38k post dated cheque to her. if the dealer dont pass her the 38k cheque frm Maybank, then she can claim frm me. So fair and square, she agreed. She passed her ic to dealer and we r ready to transfer ownership the nxt day.
I happily drive home the E46 w my wife, it was 10pm. I ask my wife go slp, while i wan to WASH the car swee swee!!! then suddenly my wife called me at 11pm, say the seller don feel safe and wans to take back her ic. i say WTF!!! NVM, the next day, the seller sms me says she wans me to get loan frm maybank myself!!! WTF again!!! evrything is almost done and she chooot pattern like that!!!wah i canot take it. I told her off and says I wil return her car n we call off the deal. she agreed. i took back 1k deposit and 8k downpayment.
So i was car-less, MPV gone, dream car gone... I took MRT w my wife n kid on weekends...
One day my wife says, the dealer got a WRX, good condition, many mods, ask me go see see. So we went. At west coast car mart, I saw a blue Rex, JDM 2.0 semi-auto. i can see that my wife reali needs a car, and the 2 agent kept pushing me persuading me. I initially gave excuses i got other cars to view. then they continue pushing, my wife kaypo say she got bring cheque book, can put deposit. then i LL kena presurrised, i agreed to place dep... Yes I like powerful car, Rex is good, but this one is fully mod w super loud Apexi Exos, bigger turbo, bigger intercooler, 4 defi, got the pssshhh sound, Boost control, lowered racing coilovers, CF front n rear bonnet n boot. Sibei thiong ah! For goodness i m a family man leh.... In the end sold my nice comfy MPV wif this kind of car...
i am damn sad and disapointed w my wrong wrong wrong moves... Reali sway... Now I am stucked with the Rex for at least 1 yr. its a super downgrade... but I everyday still surfing this forum and sgcarmart see got other E46 for sale, hehe... I will not give up my dream!!! I was so damn close, everyday I reali couldn't slp well. i felt so sori for my wife n kid to tahan the loud exos, no joke, its too loud... But i felt bad when my son asked, "Daddy, our car car leh?", then I told him, "Sori son, daddy sold off le...", the glad part is, my son replied, "Daddy, I like subaru..."... pengzzz ah.... anyway my son likes all sorts of cars...
Its a lesson learnt... dont be too rush into things. If time can go back, I will try to persuade the seller to proceed w the deal... haizzzz...
Any bro/sis, selling E46, I prefer renewed COE, year 2000/2001 model can be Pre FL or FL, Can be valvetronic, doesn't matter, as I going to drive for another 10 yrs,I hav lots of plans for it, it will b my classic mobile...
