What is RPA under i-drive? Is that something you use to reset the tyre pressure monitor? Thanks.

Re: Rpa

Hi titanic,

RPA should be the tyre pressure warning indicator. You should check your tyres for sufficient pressure or even puncture. It's introduced for use initially with the runflat tyres as a puncture on the runflats may not be immediately apparent unlike standard tyres. Nevertheless, it should be useful for standard tyres as well. keke..

Re: Rpa

Ever suffered underinflation once and the RPA warning comes on - advising to continue driving carefully but under a limit (80kmh ?) and proceed to service tyre.

I reset mine when i maintain tyre pressure as per the manual. Just to check how long does the process take ? mine seems to hang upon "initialization" until i drive off  - intend to get this checked soon.

Re: Rpa

yup thats for the tire....after u pump pls initialize...it will take about 20km drive for it to go off....

Re: Rpa

Just found out that the system recognises the loss of pressure by measuring the moving diameter/radius of the wheel. An underpressurised wheel will have a smaller rolling radius which alters the wheel speed of that particular tyre - the ABS sensor detects this and a warning is shown. That could explain why you need to travel a certain distance/speed in order for the warning to go off.

Re: Rpa

OK thanks. Funny how they left out the follow on part because cos' on screen it actually advises for engine to be on and stationery, when activating the RPA.
