RIMS has no warranty period?

Got my RIMS from Ray-S more than 1 yr ago, but today I found out that maybe there is some corrosion inside, as air was detected leaking (warning light came on). You pay so much for a premium RIMS like Advanti or its like, dont we get some warranty against these?
can someone enlighten me?

Re: RIMS has no warranty period?

rims should have warranty afaik,
but i think advanti ≠ premium

Re: RIMS has no warranty period?

The warranty can cover structural/manufacture issues, example cracks and warping of spokes, but not on wear and tear issues.

advanti not premium, who are? OZ? BBS? VMR? HRE? AC Schnizter?

nevertheless, what i meant was u paid pretty decent dollars for these so call branded rims..
may need to go down to Ray to ask if there is warranty.

Re: RIMS has no warranty period?

i bought replica rim also got 1 year warranty so call warrant manufacturing defect. but after using if you feel the rim got some problem and if indeed got problem how to challenge it is manufacturing defect or hit pothole or run over object and somewhat damage the rim?

by the way, i'm not refering to JLMC problem. i'm asking if we go down to talk to shop about claiming rims warranty, what is the argument?

If your wheels wobble or crack or warp, you should have the right to go back and question the warranty issues. Not so sure for replica wheels though.

If your wheels peel, chipped, rust, fade in colour, I reckoned it would be unfair to claim against warranty. For instance, if the chrome surfaces peel off from wear and tear after a certain period, it is unlikely that any shop will uphold the warranty. Of course, the period is subjective..... example few months under abusive conditions, grey. But if the wheels' paint peel after few days, then you have the right to bang table......

My two cents.

Then how about lets say yr rim dented?
From what kind of impact?

If kenna pothole.... can bang table.

If you go bang a truck, then go complain rim dented...... kenna banged.

Then again, it depends what kind of rims..... if you buy some replicas and kenna dented, and try to bang table..... you might be ignored.

Re: RIMS has no warranty period?

I believe I had bought "good" rims like Advanti brand from Ray, but after a few mths, then we (means staff at Ray and me) realise my rims had printed wrong spec! Got mine change after another few weeks wait, and now? Rims found to have leak air (detected by sensor). Done at Hurry, staff say maybe some "particle/sand" stuck, can cause leak at side of rim. Pay $10 for his good service n left. 2 weeks later, sensor again blink! This time, I tot try 2nd opinion. Went to LS, n LS staff told me same rim leak, maybe "tiny corrosion inside" may cause this. Now under "investigation" at LS and will be "treated" by LS.
still waiting for outcome if rim can be "treated/repaired"
Kenn, may I know how corrosion can happen inside rim?
2 lessons I had learnt:
a) i wont buy Advanti rims and also never support any YHI brand products.
b) i wont go back to Ray.

Say, did this Ray pitch/price these rims as "premium rims" ?

hmmm. i thought Advanti was just a Made in Taiwan brand, that did reps.
See lots of them on small cc JDM cars.

Re: RIMS has no warranty period?

If the rims in question is under YHI range of products, the brand should be Advan???? Advan will be japanese made rims. Advanti is taiwanese and they copy designs from the big jap brands like Volks Racing, Advan, etc.

As for warranty, only those big names like Advan, Volks Racing will have better warranty coverage as in, the local shops will honour warranty and they will claim direct from Japan. As for Advanti, the warranty will be covered by the local rim and tyre shops???

Correct me if Im wrong.

Re: RIMS has no warranty period?

YHI does not bring in Advan. Advan is the rim subsidiary of Yokohama...

And the r/s between YHI and Advanti:

"Advanti Racing Alloy Wheels is the propriety alloy wheels brand from YHI International Limited, which is listed on the Mainboard of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited (SGX-ST). YHI Manufacturing Group, the alloy wheel manufacturing arm of YHI International Limited, is the sole manufacturer of Advanti Racing Alloy Wheels and has achieved all the international safety standards of VIA (Japan) , SFI (USA) , TUV (Germany)."
