Reverse Camera for E90 without I-Drive

Hi all,

Wanna ask anyone here for help / advice on installing a reverse camera for my car. Am driving a E90 320i (no i-Drive), and according to PML, to install the camera with the TV screen which will take up one on my air-con slots for almost S$3200.

Wanna check with you guys if any of you have done something similar at a lower cost?

I would like to have the TV screen on my head unit or at least installed where it is non-intrusive as I want to preserve the "clean" dashboard looks. Also want to preserve my air con slot. My concern is also that if I change the head unit, then the OBC and the rest of the functions would not be available?

Have checked out JB, was quoted about RM$500. With installation. But I have no idea where it will be installed (TV) and the quality of the workmanship.

Any help here is appreciated. Thanks.

I have seen a gadget at Hong Guan abt a year back. Not sure if they still have it. Essentially a reverse cam and the screen is an aftermkt rear view mirror. When you engage reverse, the pic appears on the after mkt rear view mirror. Quite cool. Less than $500 for both the cam and the rear view mirror.

larry, i think the jb one will probably run a wire for that. then the screen will be mounted like those add on gps like that on your car. RM500 sounds pretty cheap

Yap. RM $500 sound to good to be true. JB workmanship can be allright if you know which shop to go to.

I have a korean brand name NOM rear view monitor cum reverse camera to recommend. This is the best reverse camera to have. The rear view monitor model no. is NRM-5100 n a separate rear view camera. Lastly the price is quite x, u can call this no. to check with them the pricing @ 65672189.
