Noticed something weird in my car. It's a 6 cylinder 2.5L valvetronic engine. When I'm accelerating (about 2000 - 2500 rpm), i've seen the rev needle suddenly jump up before the gear shifts up. This has happened on medium slopes, and roads with a slight gradient. Typically low speeds since its shortly after moving off and prob low gears - 2nd or 3rd.
Best way for me to describe it is if you are wearing thick soled shoes and you accidentally step a little more on the accelerator pedal to cause a jerk in the revs. At first, i thought it was my foot accidentally increasing on the pedal, but it's happened like 4 times, and i'm now sure it wasn't my foot.
Has anyone experience this too? I tried explaining to a CSA last time, he said it's valvetronic adjusting to match the speed. that sounds very dodgy to me. i'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that he misunderstood my question.
