Resetting Service Reminder.

Hi, can anyone kindly advise which workshop (other than PML and MA) is able to replace my brake pads and reset the service reminder on my F10 535i please?

Thank you.

P/S, I searched the forum but can't find an answer to my question.

Re: Resetting Service Reminder.

Reset is easy. Just use the button on your instrument cluster. Press and hold. I reset it myself because the workshop I went to couldn't do it. I heard that if your sensor is triggered, you may need to change it for the reset to work. Actually don't reset also ok de. Coz it is not accurate anyway.

Difficult part is finding a good workshop that actually does a proper job.

The good ones: Use the service computer to retract the parking brake in service mode.

The really jialat ones: Use an ill fitting tool to dig and dig and dig to try to turn rotate the caliper piston back. Everytime he "pui qui" and leave marks on the piston surface, my heart cringed. Then while hunting for more tools to dig, the tech leave your whole brake caliper hanging by the brake line. Oh...and the tech didn't even bothered opening the reservior prior to pushing the piston back. Don't make the same mistake as me. Go to a proper workshop.

Re: Resetting Service Reminder.

Hi, I tried your method to reset it myself but I my car just doesn't bring me to the reset menu.

Re: Resetting Service Reminder.

Try google it.

Anyway...the way I did it...

1. Unlock car, open door, step in, don't close door.
2. Turn on ignition without pressing the brake.
3. Press and hold the odo button.
4. The menu of what to reset should jump out. Brake fluid, engine oil, pads...
5. To scroll, press button and release immediately.
6. To reset, press and hold. Then it will ask you to confirm. Press and hold again. It will take a while to reset.
7. For brake pads service indicator reset, you need to leave the hand brakes off when resetting. So please do on flat ground.
