Replacing Brake Disc

Dear All,

Usually how much mileage b4 the brake disc is due for a change?
Mine is 55km.

Any idea how much to change both the front & rear?
Coz my e46 318i is making alot of squeaking sound whenever i brake. Getting louder day by day. Suspect it's the disc plate uneven or wearing out.

It's hard to gauge by mileage as one's driving style is just as important factor too that may cause an accelerated wear n tear to the rotors.

For 55k , i think it's about time too...give n take how u drive I dunno.

How much it costs?...Several hundred bux per pair.
Go to BVO or Juzz4Cars to enquire. I am sure they hv some stocks.

Was quoted $700 for the replacement front & rear.
Alternative is to skin the disc for $300 front/rear.
Coz intend to deregister my ride in a year's time.

My rear brake discs cost S$180 a pair and about S$140 for a pair of brake pads. Fronts should be about the same...

if you do not intend to keep your car for long, i suggest u do not change the dics brakes and save the money. I used my disc for about 60k+ before changing them and they were way below the minimum limit set by BMW.

squeaking brakes can be cause by many reason. if you want to get rid of them change the brake disc. if not u can try to brake hard several times to try and even the disc.
