Remus quads for my E93 325i but waaaay too soft!

after much research, decided to make a jump for the remus as they're the most wallet friendly hehe. slapped the quads on, pressed on the start button and.... disappointment.

exhaust note was bassy but too soft for the inner beng in me.
however i have to add that my resonator and cats are still on and here's my question:

- i know where the resonator is but where exactly are the cats?
- i hear everyone mentioning the primary and secondary cat; does the secondary cat refer to the resonator or are they 3 separate parts we're talkin abt? (primary cat in header? secondary cat in downpipe? resonator before the muffler? an undercarriage picture would help alot)
- will removing the resonator be loud enough?
- lets say i try to remove one of the cats. will i get a CEL and lose alot of low-end?

Sorry for the thousand and one questions. lets try to help a frustrated chump here

i'll promise to post pictures and a video of it when i get to the resonator this week or so!

cut a few holes along the exhaust pipe, sure make the sound louder, although may lose a few horse power.

Those mods are not LTA compliant..........and exhaust flow velocity would be affected (affects the low-end).

so anyone removed their secondary cats before and din get a CEL?

Use a high flow cat and go green with no CEL........

Removing the resonator might help alil in the noise area while not sacrificing lost on power...

Removing cat may cause ur system to not have the "back pressure" where by losing low end power.

Why not give a call to FK/Man exhaust to help find your answer?

Good luck with the exhaust mods bro...but good to stay legal as any welding marks may cause you probs during inspection..

Actually can remove anything - as long as exhaust gas velocity increases or remains at the same velocity, low end would also improve or remain the same.

Just don't remove something and slow the exhaust gas velocity down.....then there would be low end losses.
