removing vapour from headlights

Hi,

I found some water vapours at my side indicators and front headlamps. Any advice on where I can get these cleaned up?

Thanks :)

Re: removing vapour from headlights

ur indicators probably have gaps, resulting in vapour. i suggest getting them changed under warranty. no point cleaning it as vapour will form again

Thanks Slater.

Under warranty? Do you mean going to PML for servicing? or to the workshop which I changed the headlights?

alamak, u changed headlights? to what, angle eyes? since u change liao go back to that workshop and ask why is there vapour. PML wun entertain u since its not replaced by them.

Re: removing vapour from headlights

do you mean the 'ugly' water mark in the headlight ? just park the car under strong sun
as far as i know, there is no cure to this .... kekeke

Re: removing vapour from headlights

hey lilian, for the headlights, if u got xenons, just switch em on and fry those vapour away...keke
as for side indicators, dun think much can be done except replacing them

If you have changed aftermarket headlights, you are on your own. PML certainly won't care so best is go back to the workshop you bought your headlights from.

Re: removing vapour from headlights

My stock and never taken out before also got water droplet especially in the morning. Park it in the Sun and it will go away. You can also use hair dryer to blow from the outside. Nothing much you can do.

Re: removing vapour from headlights

if you're hands on, you can:
1. disassemble the lights (esp the blinkers are quite easy)
2. remove the bulbs
3. blow dry with hairdryer set to mid warm till vapor gone.
4. put into ziplock bag (or big plastic bag but tie tightly) with silica gel (think abt $10 for a rather big bottle avail at camera shops)
5. keep it there for at least 4~5 hours (just nice, take out on Saturday night, dry it and ready by Sunday morning to re-install)
6. remove fm ziploc
7. seal all fix joining area with silicon (can buy fm diy shops at less than $20)
8. re-install
Definitely effective and satisfying results.

if you're not hands on, you can:
1. find/bribe/co-erc someone who is hands-on to do fm Step1 above :yummie:

total cost : less than 10 hours of work (including waiting time), less than $30 material cost.
(but be careful dun get injured while diy... medical bills not included)

try to park under shelter overnight and dry your car inside out after a downpour...this will help reduce but you still need to resolve the leak.

Re: removing vapour from headlights

Thanks for all your helpful advice.

I will bring the car out for a sun tan to dry out those vapours first. If that doesn't work, I will go back to the workshop. Hope that will help :)
