Rear Right Lower Than Rear Left??

I just measure the ride heigth of my car and found that my rear right side is around half finger lower compared to rear left. Is this ususally due to suspension problem? How can I get it fixed?

Thanks!

Re: Rear Right Lower Than Rear Left??

Yes Battery is on the rear right but it should not cause the right side to lower right?

Re: Rear Right Lower Than Rear Left??

Car was designed for left hand drive so right side slightly lower than left. If you measure you fronts, you'll notice the same as well. Strange but true.

Re: Rear Right Lower Than Rear Left??

bimmers are originally designed for LHD - country of origin is LHD. weight distribution between left and right sides are intentionally done for LHD.

for RHD conversions for the RHD world, they had to shift most of the stuff over to the right side, e.g. steering, etc. so right side is now heavier than the left. hence, the right side now sits a bit lower. this is especially evident in the e36 and earlier models.

nothing to worry about...

Dont worry, be happy..

my E46 also same same... unless you go for some coilovers and with adjustbble height, have to live with the strange look :)

its due to the fuel tank and battery which is on the right side.. battery itself is already 30kg.... u go count the weight of the fuel tank + fuel... then u know why.. haha

it will be more apparent if you are running lowering spring though... on stock the car is soo high that you wont be able to tell anyways

Re: Rear Right Lower Than Rear Left??

there are 2 fuel tanks - one on the right and another on the left, and they are joined in the middle.

at least for the 3 series...

Re: Rear Right Lower Than Rear Left??

Halow, don't OT people's thread with issues on my balls lah. it's made of steel anyway. And iscoupe has square balls. I bet $15,000 - anyone take?

Sorry for OT. I think the answer is evident from the replies above, on why our car's right side is lower....
