Rear Brakes Change

I'm driving 320i E90 LCI with mileage abt 100k.
The indicator has shown that my rear brake is due to be changed.
Do I need to change the rotor as well?

Where is a fast and cheap place to change the brakes?

Thanks!

Re: Rear Brakes Change

Rotors usually last about 1.5 pads in general. Change the rotors if you dont want to worry about it in the future, otherwise you can always get the thickness measured to see how close they are to the minimum thickness.

Also, fast and cheap means the job wont be good:

1. Fast
2. Cheap
3. Good

You can only choose two of the above.

Re: Rear Brakes Change

Run your hand along the edge of the rotor and feel if there is a lip ........

If there is no lip ....... then think again about changing ......

Rear pads, sensors, disc probably set you back around $400-450. Original BMW parts.

Re: Rear Brakes Change

Hi guys,

I tried changing to ATE ceramic brakes to improve performance and reduce brake dust.
It really makes a lot of difference in term of brake dust.
Performance wise not much diff cos want to run in the brakes.

Btw what is lip? Uneven groves?
