Quietest Exhuast?

Hi Bros,

I'm driving an E90 320i and Im looking to change to an aftermarket LTA approved Exhuast. But due to my Wife, I can't change something that is loud, I need an exhuast which is as quiet as stock or slightly louder at the most. Also I want something that does not drone in the cabin. Any recommendations? Thanks very much in advance!

Hmmm
Who's that Girl taking photo at PSA Building...:)

The maserati always parked at top most floor daily...
There are also couples of porsche & Merc AMG55 parked at this carpark daily.

Can ask her to take my picture of my car, as I also parked there? :laughlik:

hmm bro, i know my question pretty lame, maybe i should rephrase my question, "What exhuast sounds like stock at 3000 rpm and below? " heheh:)

Any idea where to get this exhuast? Thanks bro!
elmariachi got the quietest aftermarket exhaust I've ever seen. you may want to pm him. Even at 6K rpm it don't sound nothing. BUT IT LOOK BIGGER THAN MY MEMBER.

Re: Quietest Exhuast?

Would be interesting to see which exhaust makes the least change to noise levels yet offer a reasonable enhancement in performance.

Re: Quietest Exhuast?

well, in your situation, u are better off sticking to the stock n use the money for something else....change new brakes, ICE or something instead....hehe
why waste money getting a new exhaust that sounds like stock....pretty ironic...hehe

Re: Quietest Exhuast?

well, most women are not really that discerning listerners when it comes to hearing exhaust sounds. to most of em, it sounds the same unless we are using a freaking loud one....so end up with them nagging again for wasting money on it....hehe

delrosa, u could try popping by FongKim to have a look

Re: Quietest Exhuast?

u got the wrong car. i dun park at psa. i park in raffles place area.

ok to the thread starter. i wasnt poking fun at you. but sszone has said what i meant as well. frankly most of the LTA approved ones r realy soft imo....so any is fine...droning mostly no issues for 320s.

Hi Bro, no worries, Im alright :) Okie I would like the exhuast to be more bassy but I do not wan any droning in the cabin, cos for my Jap car earlier, I was on Fuji and there was pretty much droning while cruising thats why. Thanks for the advise:)

im using sebring. it's supposed to be quite loud esp when it's hot, but quite frankly i can hardly unless i wind down my windows in an underground carpark and give it some revs
u MIGHT hear slight droning on expressway, but chances are your tyre roar will be much louder

anyway if your wife complains just tell her that her voice is 10x louder than your exhaust :singsing:

Thanks bro, will go scout around first. Thanks for the advise! hehe yup i always tell my wife this too! hehe :)

Re: Quietest Exhuast?

why d u wan an quiet aftermarket market exos as they are usually louder than stock.

stock is quietest. aftermarket exhaust on 320 loses too much low end torque

Re: Quietest Exhuast?

I don't think you're going to find a quiet after market exhaust unless you're willing to compromise.

Alternatively...

1. Get bigger looking tips. Legal and noise free.
2. Adopt the "It's my car i do whatever i like" attitude.
3. Change to Sebring exhaust (legal) and insist that you never changed anything in your car.

Like one of the earlier members said..it's quite ironic to look for the quietest exhaust. ;)

Good luck in your hunt.

Re: Quietest Exhuast?

Dear Bros,

Thanks for your comments and advises. I think my Topic Title and my question is very misleading. My preference is I would like to have an exhuast that is bassier and not that much louder than stock when idling and cruising. Most importantly I would prefer not to have droning in the cabin when I am cruising at around 90KM/H. Only when I rev past 3k to 3.5k rpm will the exhuast get bassier and louder than stock. Of cos I love the bassy rumble when hard revving, but due to my Wife and also partly of myself that I do not want an exhuast that is very loud even when idling or normal driving. I do not know whether is there an exhuast but from feedback, Sebring and Supersprint exhuasts seem to fit the bill. Thanks to all for the advise! :)
