Questions abt E46 318 Dr

Hi all,

I need alot advice on this car. Planning to get it very soon. I am pretty concerned about the maintainence n fuel consumption for this car. Is this car a good choice? What do I have to be careful about? Isit very hard n expensive to get replacement parts for this car should it break down?how abt the servicing aspects. Hope the old birds here can help. Tks in advance

should consider E46 320 (6pot) if the price is slightly more and within your budget

check mileage, gear box usually give way around 150000km>

price wise not very ex to get parts unless doing an over-haul......

FC ok ok.........

Tks all, there is one in the sgcarmart going for 49k. Where as the 320 is going for 70-80+ k. Why is the difference so big? Can enlighten me?

Tks guys. The one I saw is in SgCarMart and it's a manual. The rest of the 320 is going for ard 80k. Why is the price diff so big? Also what is the average comsumption?

318 is 2.0L, 4 cyc
320i is 2.2L, 6 cyc

but there are some 318i that is 1895cc....ard 1.9L one (pre FL)

why not go for this: Used BMW 318i Car for Sale in Singapore, Auto Zoom Enterprise - sgCarMart
(this unit at least is 2.0L with 156hp, newer engine, FL model, more power and got OMV still plus m3 kit)
pay abit more but you get much more advantages.....

COE car interest rate are very much higher than say for car less than 10 years.......plus i think max can only loan 5 years unless u are paying full cash (plus an older car will have more chance of giving wear and tear problem.) road tax higher also..........

auto or manual is depend on your likes.............

the 2.0L is 4cyc 16 valve - you pay abit more but for a better engine plus overall is a facelift model......(if budget allows)
the 1.9L is 4cyc 8 valve - abit dated......
