Question abt BMW Original Remote

I do not know which column to post this question so am asking it here..

I have got myself an E90 320i recently and it comes with the original BMW remote. but the question is... if my car got jacked.. does the alarm sound off? or does it have any alarm in the first place? I saw in the manual that it have the motion sensor both on the exterior & interior but I have never hear any sound before from the remote. asked some workshop and they told me that the remote is just a remote to lock & unlock the car and thats it!

Is that true?

AFAIK, there is NO factory fitted alarm system. Yes, the remote is just to lock/unlock doors.

Sorry Petmail for using your thread...I lost my remote key for my E92, anyone one where to get a duplicate piece? My E92 is from PI.

I lost one of my key before...

you need to go to PML, sign a form. Pay $150 bucks

they order the key and call you up.

you need to leave both keys with them as well as your car for a day to let me reprogram the keys.
