(Q) Blue black disc

Hi there. My front brake discs look a little blue-black compare to the rears. Are the discs overheated? Brake pads not suitable, perhaps?

Does sound like your discs got really hot at some point. I've seen youtube videos of discs that went bright red during heavy braking but they were fine.. so I don't think they're damaged as long as they're not warped, which might happen if you drive over a puddle after such braking.

Here's an example of red hot brakes. Quite awesome. :)

Re: (Q) Blue black disc

i might be mistaken, but could it be the result of driving with "jammed" brakes? one quick way to check is to raise your car, and see if the front tires could rotate freely. happened to my jap ride before, and my jap ride was on the signature blue branded jap "hopeless" calipers.
