Looking at the either stying 155 16 " ( Jus Rims ) or 158 17 "
Thanks in advance!

Re: Price for upgrading rims

Bro, u may wish to specify which generation of 3 series u are driving as some can take bigger rims some cannot.

Re: Price for upgrading rims

In my opinion, the E90 shd go with much bigger rims (at least 18") to fill the wheel arches. Anything less than those and the car will look terribly under-tyred. But the trade off of having bigger rims and tyres is of course a slower car, slightly higher FC and higher tyre-replacement costs. Well can't have everything. Try to speak to forummer TBT as he has upgraded to 18". Forget abt 15" to 17". U will regret later.

Andy,

I thought it should be ok if you keep the rolling diameter as close to the original as possible?

Re: Price for upgrading rims

Thanks for the headsup, waht worried about the FC and speed effect, but would also like to change out of the stock shoes.
So whats the cost for an 18" upgrade ( BMW original wheels)

Brandons, when u said ok, in what sense? If u mean odometer and speedo readings not affected, that won't be a problem lah.

If u buy orginals from PML e.g. the 18" they feature in some of the show cars, then I think $6k. I am not sure for that price, comes with tyres or not. There was a discussion in another thread on PML rims. But u might also want to consider non-OEM brands such as Hamann, AC Schnitzer, Breyton etc. Best is to check with Tbt. He even posted a thread featuring different types of rims.

Re: Price for upgrading rims

I do notice some of the stock rims of the E90 esp the 16in ones are quite positive as far as offset goes. The wheels look so sunken in.

Those who consider upgrading rims...might as well look out for an offset in the region of +30 to +35, anything more than +40 will be fugly for the car
