Dear all Sis n Bro,
As mentioned in my Thread earlier this month, I am startng a charity drive to help under-privilaged children. My aim is to make it a long term event n hopefully become an organisation that help these poor children in getting them back to school.
Though a more Privilage group now, I am sure most of us have been through a certain period of hardship; be it a tough childhood, a depressing period in our teens, a disastrous biz failure or a bad relationship. But I am sure nothing beats a tough childhood, where scarcity of resources make it almost impossible for them to go to school. Even if they get back to school, a lot of these children from under-privilage families hardly have money for canteen breaks or even lunch. With energy depleted n a troubled family, how can these children, with even the best potential to excel, be able to groom into future pillars of our nation.
Therefore, the first event I am organising is to rally for funds to be donated to the ST Pocket Money Funds.
I am very grateful that one of our nation's very distiguished artist, Mr Ling Yang Zhang, is donating pieces of his work to be auctioned for this act of kndness. The event will be held in the month of August, in tendem with our National Day celebration; which make it more meaningful.
Mr Ling Yang Zhang is an accomplished local artist who has done numerous successful exhibitions both locally n abroad. He is currently the HOD of Art in a local school and has his own art Studio to impart his skills to potential artists. He has also done many impressive art pieces for owners of landed/non-landed properties, offices and schools
I am appealing to sis and bros who are free to grace the event and be generous in their donation n bids during the event. It will be held at the old NAFA School premise, tentatively. A reception will be held.
I will be posting further details when more details n plans are finalised.
I am hereby appealing to 10 sis n bro to be part of the organising committee to both help organise and smoothen the process, as well as to help rally the rest of the sis n bro in supporting this event.
Also, I hope the organising committee can be the Provost of my actions and intentions, so as to ensure that I don't take the money to buy a Golden Tap for my office.
.
If there are sis or bro doing catering, I appeal to your sponsorship as well. If you have anything to donate as a auction item, pls drop me a PM(but pls don't donate BMW mod-parts like rims or body-kit lah
). Any other ideas for sponsorship and/or to make the event a success is much sought-after and appreciated.
If you are interested to be in the organising committee, pls PM me. Tks
If you intend to make a donation by cheques, pls cross and indicate the beneficiary as " Straits Times Pocket Money Funds", and send it to me for consolidation or you can do so at the event. As for cash donation, pls do so only in the presence of officials from Straits Times, in the transparent donation box, at the event.
Please make this Natioanl Day a meaningful and memorable one, n set an example for our children, to show them the beauty and importance of sharing and caring.
Cheers
