Pre-LCI 2-stage brake light

For the pre-LCI e90, I understand that there are 2 brake light bulbs on each side. The owners' manual says that for normal braking only the outboard bulb on each side will light-up brightly, from what I have observed of other e90s that stopped in front of me, the inboard bulb seems to light-up only weakly or not at all (?). But when e-braking, BOTH bulbs are supposed to light-up brightly. Seems like a waste of one good brake light bulb. Anybody ever considered modding so that even during normal braking both bulbs will light-up brightly? This so-called 2-stage approach doesn't seem to have been carried over to the F30 with their LED brake lights, so their must have been a rethink (?)

Re: Pre-LCI 2-stage brake light

Some PML units are specifically coded to not have it lighted up.

Others are just not enabled.

It can also be coded for the second stage braking to blink instead of just lighting up.

Thanks bro, so if my inboard bulb does light up weakly during normal braking, is it just a matter of recoding to get it to always light up brightly? Would the sponsor workshops be able to perform that recoding?
