Heres how you do it. After the bull$hit conversation is over, if they agree on the price, kawan will stick their hand or hold something through your front window. U just take a note and place it gently in his hands(faced down) or put it in between the pages of his whatever book he is holding.
You are a real expert of this!! Question is, how do I start the conversation? Just say something like "I am sorry, didn't notice that I was going fast, how can we settle this?" Or there is a "professional conversation template" for that?

i always take tickets. It's the legal and only safe thing to do.
What is the procedure of paying a ticket? Do we have to pay it before leaving Malaysia?

ok handing over your passport is always never a good idea. for identification purposes, just hand them your driving license.
I was asked to put the money in my passport, so he could take it and the money with nobody seeing him and if someone was taping, he could always claim he was checking my passport as a routine check. After walking off with my passport and gift, he came back and handed me back my passport and told me to proceed.

I have heard others say they were passed a book and they slip the money inside. Whatever, the point is they won't take cash directly in full view of everyone.

You don't need to put yourself in trouble by asking if this can be settled. If it can be settled, it will be made clear to you as you talk to the guy. He will be the one that will say it will be troublesome to go to pay a fine and then you go from there.

There are exceptional occasions. Once I come to a stop, pull handbrake with engine still on. He smiled I smiled, and he showed 5 fingers "$50?", gave them the fees. All done in 20 seconds. No a single word was uttered.

This reminds me of an incident in JKT few years back. I was in my Indo friend's car somewhere in the busy city area. After making an illegal u turn, my friend took out some money from his pocket immediately and keep to the left side of the road and slowed down his car. Suddenly one mata came out from no where, my friend wind down the window slightly and slipped out the money. It was damn fast, fast until like the car didn't even come to a complete stop yet and he drove off already. Then he looked at me and smiled and said, "It's like that here, every day is the same, damn efficient one". I'm speechless. ABD, this one is faster than you!

yeah to me just take the summons and leave, no point talking to them. there was once when they issued me the summon and ask me to come back on the written date to attend some court hearing, and to settle the fine. i took the summon, told him ok and just drove off. who in the right mind would actually give a s**t about paying or returning for the hearing.

and to be honest, i'm full of malaysia summons and i still drive into malaysia.

The kawans should have 'touch-n-go' device strapped on their uniform. Slow down, tap your cashcard, and drive on...lagi efficient.

i travel to KL twice a month and this always works for me if u got stop by these mosquitos....

Step 1 - no need to say anything to them,
just take 30rm ,fold it so that it does not protrude out from your driving license
Step 2 - clamp the 30rm under your license and pass it to them.
Step 3 - they will tell u " tak choo kup" ( not enough )
Step 4- reply nicely to them : sorry la "bang" ( means "bro"), juz now finish all cash to top up petrol, cash habis la ( means finished) . Normally they will let u go at this stage, works for me 90%,.If they dont,
and insist more, than proceed to next step

Step 5 - tell them " OK LA, GIVE ME SUMMON TICKET" and than ask for their full name,
and normally they will finally give in and let u go for 30rm.
IF this step still dosent work and they insist you to come out from the car or follow them to nearest ATM... there is only one more step.

Step 6 - tell them you find dig for more cash, than floor your pedal and drive off as fast as possible , because they are no longer police....

Now, for argument sake, let's say I want to pay the summon/fine. How do we do it? Could someone please explain. :helpp!:

Re: Practical speed limits in Malaysia

you can pay online

www.rilek.com.my
www.myeg.com.my
www.eservices.com.my

if you are stopped at custom pay cash. if you got more than 1 fine, can say not enough money pay 1 fine and the rest settle other time.
accumulate 8-10 fines, change car liao :lol2:

You are absolutely experienced with this!!! Question: What if he happen to be a genuine article? Won't it get us caught for "trying to bribe"? Wouldn't it be better to wait for a signal and push the money inside their book (or whatever)?

Re: Practical speed limits in Malaysia

the best is let them "say it" first.

step 1 - hand over driving license
step 2 - officer ke ke write something on the summon
step 3 - officer said you speeding 121kmph (no matter how fast you travel)
step 4 - officer bla bla bla then catch the phrase "settle here"
step 5 - officer hand over a summon book with a page flip over, you slip the money under that page
step 6. officer return driving license
step 7. drive away and say cheers -> can also ask in front got block or not ?

That's 1 of d reason i nvr pay them. If kena stopped, i will wind down my windown & nonchatantly give them my driving license.

If they 1 $$, they will chase me off within 2 mins by saying that summon will be send to me.

If they issue ticket, i will juz take loh. No big deal.
