Louis, as far as i remember, the vendor should hv some kind of touch up paint for the calipers. Have u tried that route yet?

Re: powder coating services to recommend?

I think some guys on mycarforum and the honda forum can do it. That's probably a better place to ask.

TripleM,

the calipers are supposed to be powder coated but in an attempt to rush the calipers to me, rob painted them instead and i can tell the difference.... would prefer powder coating but if not possible, i'll probably get mike to repaint my calipers for me.

Jaskin,

you have got to be kidding me right? do you not remember the saga of the chrome number plates? i will think twice before going with a MCF recommendation ever again.

Re: powder coating services to recommend?

haha, oh yeah. Them ugly number plates. Maybe you can ask J4C or BVO for advise on where to go.

Re: powder coating services to recommend?

usually powder coating does not last for brakes as the coating is set by heat. Thus when your brakes gets hot, the coating becomes tacky and is really a bad idea. i would recommend that you try and keep as much of the original paint as possible cos it offers the best heat resistance. (wun fade, peel or crack). use a bit of cut polish to remove the scratches and for those nicks on the corners, use a fine brush and hi-temp paint to touch up.

Just an opinion

Cheers and gd luck

Re: powder coating services to recommend?

yendor,

didn't know that. i assumed since brembos came powder coated, it must be preferable to high temp paint.....

hmm... wilwoods are supposed to be powdercoated red, mine was a black one painted red as it was rushed for my june 9th track day.

lots to think about now.
