From Porsche Panamera Officially Unveiled in Shanghai - Worldcarfans

In a move that further entrenches China as a force to be reckoned with in the automotive industry, Porsche unveiled the new Panamera four-door four-seat Gran Turismo at Auto Shanghai 2009. The Panamera is a car of almost five metres in length which is aimed at Porsche fans with extra space requirements but not at the sacrifice of performance.
Powering the Panamera is a range of engines that includes two V8s making 400bhp (298kW) with RWD and 500bhp (373kW) in AWD plus a V6. German dealerships will receive the Panamera on September 12 with a hybrid following some time later.
Some notable technological innovations fitted to the vehicle include an air suspension system with extra air volume available on demand in each damper and the first Start/Stop system that comes with an automatic transmission according to the press release. Attention was also paid to the weight of the car and its aerodynamic attributes so the best overall performance could be obtained out of it.
The Panamera becomes the fourth model in a Porsche range that already has the 911, the Cayman/Boxster and Cayenne on its menu.
"Introducing the Panamera," said Klaus Berning, Executive Vice-President Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG, "we are entering a market segment completely new for our customers and we are once again consistently expanding our model portfolio."

From a certain angle, the rear of the car looks like a Bentley

But from the front it's unmistakably a Porsche - a funny combi when put together though!

Re: Porsche Panamera Officially Unveiled in Shanghai

I used to hate the car and always first on the bandwagon to diss it. But having seen the white turbo in the flesh, I've to admit I'm somewhat impressed by its design. Agree that it will grow on you. Mighty engine...lovely interior.

Re: Porsche Panamera Officially Unveiled in Shanghai

he was balls shocked by how it drives... straight away downpayment for the turbo... kan gui.... 620k with options...

Re: Porsche Panamera Officially Unveiled in Shanghai

Honestly, it looks way better than... the M5 GT... Though different in categorisation but the designs called for some form of comparison... Maybe it's just me.

Re: Porsche Panamera Officially Unveiled in Shanghai

I saw this car being driven on Singapore road a couple of weeks back. It is already here and it looks good to me.

Re: Porsche Panamera Officially Unveiled in Shanghai

I love convertibles (despite Singapore's weather) and need 2+2 seats to allow whole family to enjoy the ride. So ............................

.......................... I am delighted to see the new MASERATI GRAND CABRIO:

MASERATI GRAND CABRIO

DROOLING .................... my saliva dripping ......brand new will be almost $600k and knowing Maserati, the depreciation after 2 years can be killing. So looks like I gotta wait to buy 2nd hand after someone drived for 2 years........... wait for 2012-2013 !!!!! AAARRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! :verysad:

Saw one on the road the other day.

The rear looks quite purposeful and very Porsche like but with more muscular lines vs the more svelte lines of a regular 911.

Rear 3 quarters wasn't so hot, but looks quite good still.

Didn't manage to see how it looked from the front. My 660cc couldn't keep up
:p

Re: Porsche Panamera Officially Unveiled in Shanghai

It look way better in the flash than pictures and I have always maintain this poition since the first photo was out. The best part, this car just grow on you and the more you look at it, the better it become esp in Black colour!
