Hi

Would like to know if there is any workshop who take care of Car Front Windscreen? Mine is a E46 PFL and my windscreen is full of little chipmarks, scratches by those flying sands/pebbles/whatever.....it is quite ugly already and everyday I have to face it ....yuck!!!!! UNless I go and smash my own windscreen and get my insurance to pay for the new windscreen lah!

The workshop sh be able to fix those minor scratches and chipmarks and polish the whole windscreen so it looks like new later.
Any advice would be very much appreciated. Let me know the address of workshop and how much sh it cost.

Thanks again!

I dun think u can do that..its best to change new windscreen. I got the same thing when I had my E36 3yrs ago..full of chip marks. Just need to show some crack and the insurance can replace free for u

Re: Polish Car Front WindScreen?

Perhaps you can give the insurance company a call to find out which workshops they require you to go to.

Then give the workshop a call to see if it's absolutely necessary to have a chip/crack, or will they replace it if there're evident micro pits.

The reason I say this is, I had a very small chip/crack (10cent coin size) on one of the top edges. It wasn't very obvious at all. When I brought it down to the appointed workshop they didn't even check at all and they replaced it anyways - I had to explicitly point out the chip/crack for them! I'd to pay $100 because it's in the insurance policy but it's worth it IMO.

Cheers.

yah, most probably will be replaced. then can get a new windscreen. swee swee..smooth and clean. Different feeling also, like driving new car, the car feels more powerful, aircon feels colder..ok, I am going off tangent

Re: Polish Car Front WindScreen?

Make sure you don't have a window tint on your windscreen as your insurance would not pay for that.
