Policeman said he could not leave office to help 5 year old girl accident victim !

A young girl was knocked down by a lorry yesterday afternoon.

But when a witness reported the accident at a Neighbourhood Police Post (NPP), the police officer on duty said he could not leave his post to assist him.

Shin Min Daily News reported today that the policeman on duty told the 41-year-old witness, who gave his name as Paul, that he had already informed the Traffic Police about the accident.

The officer said he was unable to leave the NPP because he was on duty alone. But he had ensured that a police car arrived on-scene to render assistance until an ambulance arrived.

In response, a police spokesperson said the police officer had immediately checked whether an ambulance had been dispatched to the scene of the accident.

The accident happened after a five-year-old girl dashed across a road and was knocked down by a lorry at 1.50pm. It happened near the Ghim Moh bus terminal.

Paul said an elderly woman wanted to cross the road with two children, but turned back after seeing a bus approaching.

He then heard a loud bang and saw a little girl lying down on the ground with her shoes flung to the lorry's side.

who knows, the gal might stand a better chance if the cop has went to help, administer CPR or whatever necessary.
wtf are our NPP cops doing? i still remember one of our nite kopi outings where the NPP police are like a joke, even Bro Jeff J8833T was more man than them (they can't even stop a man from repeatedly abusing his gf in front of so many ppl here at the kopitiam)
the only thing i see is them dabao-ing makan in their uniform

NPPs are pretty lame they open only at noon. Bad things don't happen in the morning, apparently.

Once, I went to my NPP to report many cars ard my estate driving against flow of traffic. Even driving downwards at the UP ramp in the multi-storey carpark.

NPP: Is there an accident you want to report?
Me : No.

NPP: Is there a car (car number) you want to report for driving against flow of traffic?
Me: No.

NPP: then what are you reporting?

In so far as the law is concerned, there must be a complainant and an accussed to complete the loop.

maybe the conversation went like this.....

"Oh, the victim involved is a 5 year girl, alamak, my CPR training is for young chio bu one, I wasn't trained for kids, at least if its a man I can contact those hunk in bmw-sg.....now jialat, maybe I contact the LTA and ambulance to see if they are trained...."

the officer got valid reasons one. ..... according to toto.....
