PML or PI?

Hi All, what is the reason that most people buy BMW from PML instead of PI? Does anyone know the Origin of the BMW @ PML?

Re: PML or PI?

Can be summed up in 3 words or 1 word (3 syllable)

1. Peace of Mind
2. War-ran-ty

Re: PML or PI?

Depends on what car also... for example, when buy a Honda Jazz... reliable car, lotsa parts... I would save a few thousand and get from PI. If got issue, I assume the few k would cover it. If no issue, the few k I keep for taking risk with PI.

When I bought my Accord, I just took the risk and assume Honda has a reliable quality system. I bought from PI and never went back again... 3 years no issue. Car sold liao.

For more expensive cars (like BMW), I would go authorised distributors. Parts are expensive and if got any issue they got equipment to troubleshoot and fix. So my vote is for PML. I did my homework and you can save about 10K with PI (but you need to compare OMV and equipment list). At the end of the day, PML peace of mind and equipment list wins in my books.

Re: PML or PI?

IMO, if you are keeping the car in stock condition, buy from the agent. but if you are going to do a lot of mods, can consider to buy from PI since warranty will be void if you do any mods.

Re: PML or PI?

Hi there,

I saw a need to impart a lesson that I learnt 2 years ago. Pls read and be educated.

I bought a 2-yr old 3 series from one of the auto dealers and the moment I signed the Sales Contract and paid the deposit I got a rude surprise after I got back to them 2 days later. They slapped me with unreasonable admin cost for Loan application thru their source and a load of craps that I challenged them profusely. They lied that my trade-in car would be scrapped but it was obvious that they sold it to another motorist. This surfaced when they requested for my NRIC to facilitate the transfer of ownership. I protested and refused to loan them my NRIC until they reimburse me a reasonable sum of money. They relented. Ride was smooth until a few months later. I had to cough up several thousands of dollars to fix the problems that ensued.

2 years lapsed and I started hunting for a replacement car. This time I walked into PML Preowned Showroom at Dunearn Road. Believe me, those sales personnel are so much professional and possess real ethiquettes as opposed to those 'ah-bengs & ah teerrrs' at automarts. They are patient and non-presurrizing. They let you test-drive to your delight. Honestly, I must had test-driven at least 5 to 7 Bimmers in a span of 2 weeks around X'mas/New Year season and up to date I've not purchase any replacement Bimmer. Believe me, the sales personnel at PML are still as friendly and welcoming as ever.

Moral of story is: If you can afford a BMW, pls, pls go to a proper place to purchase them.

Bestest from Huton

Re: PML or PI?

Another slimy dealer story... I don't even want to try them. All the trauma is not even worth it.

Re: PML or PI?

I bought my pre-owned E46 from Performance Premium Selection Ltd too and honestly, the SE atitude really deserved a thumb-up. Everything was done in a friendly manner and black & white, no hidden cost or whatsoever.

I really do hope the PIs sales could see these threads complaining about their attitudes.
