PML Fast Service Cost

Users Awaiting Email Confirmation
Went to PML East Coast for fast service this morning.

E60 2008, 40k mileage

Engine Oil, 6 ltr including filter, ring. $320
Flush and replace brake fluid $100

Total $420

There is a item that i declined... a 10-point check costing $99. I alway rmember to decline this. My outside workshop checked this at no cose.

Did engine oil change at outside workshop (at 8k intervals). Usually about $220. But no aircon, no wifi, no cake, no tea and no mei mei (actually auntie at PML) service.

Re: PML Fast Service Cost

320 sounds quite ex...

Re: PML Fast Service Cost

PML does not suck out the oil from the oil filter container. They just remove the filter and drain the oil from below. I know this because I was shocked when I saw them change my oil for my car. Most of the workshops outside suck the oil from the oil filter housing because the oil in there is already close to over 1 litre and its dirty oil. So image if they do that for every car and charge you for 6L, you are only getting 5L of new oil and 1L is charity to PML. Not to mention, 1L of shit oil mixing with 5L of new oil.

Trust me, they never drain the oil filter housing.

Well, it's $100 more than what i pay at Ubi workshop. But you need this service to secure your warranty. So at 7k and 14k, i change oil outisde. At 20k, then i go PML.

Re: PML Fast Service Cost

did you reset your obc when service your car outside ? did pml ever question you why service at 20K which they probably know you have service outside?
i'm thinking to do the same thing !

Re: PML Fast Service Cost

suck oil out ? hmm, have service my ride outside twice and twice the car was hoist and wait for the oil to drip till the last drop.
i have never witness sucking the oil out . i guess this means old oil mix with new oil during oil change :(

There is a substantial amount of oil in the oil filter housing that does not get drained from the drain plug. You have to use a pump to suck the oil out of the oil filter housing. That oil quantity itself in the oil filter housing is about 1 litre approximately.

juz wondering...
so far i did oil change at PML and its able to last 25000 km (according to the OBC)...
but if i change at workshop outside will it last 25000 km...?
or isset advisable to change at a much frequent interval (like bro mapleleaf at every 7k)..?

Re: PML Fast Service Cost

thanks for the info. learn something new :)

Re: PML Fast Service Cost

just came back from the 1 hour fast lane service at pml
change oil (4.25L) + oil filter for E90 320 @ $225 compare to outside workshop about $160-$180 (depends on promotion) ..... ok la ....
suggest me to change aircon micro filter @ $100 ... i said too cheap ... no thanks ... kekeke
obc is reset to next service for another 12,000km. i think it is standard for pml to set oil change interval to 12k instead of 25k previously, which caused oil sludge

Re: PML Fast Service Cost

mapleleaf, did it take only 1 hr? If so, I will go for the fast lane service next time.

I went for mine at Alexandra on Saturday and it took 3.5 hrs. But the best part was that they left the "Don't wash car" plastic sheet in my car. Free souvenir. Ai borrow mai?

Re: PML Fast Service Cost

yes 1 hour. call and make appointment.

20 mins for coffee + 2 cake and play iphone game
20 mins check out the ride in ppsl (look for the models out of reach like yam3 and z4)
20 mins suft net (no porno hor) :lol2:

collect car !

Thanks for sharing!

Btw, my OBC prompts me for oil servicing every 8,000km. I think it's due to my driving pattern.....

Re: PML Fast Service Cost

Yup. 1 hour done. Actual cost was $402 (including replace brake fluid at $75 include labour). Not too bad lar... German-trained engineers mah. Outside, they dun use engineers - they only use Malaysia boys.

When i do service outside PML, i ask them dun reset OBC. So only reset OBC at PML.

C & C food is better though... they use DeliFrance.

Vantage Motors (Ford) provides Bengawan Solo.

PML? BM Cakes?

don't they replace the oil filter during servicing? thought the engine was designed to drain off oil naturally.
