If the car is a high-spec'ed car like M3, M5, C4S, then it might make sense to go the PI way. The fact is that the absolute discount is attractive enough for buyers to do so.
If the car is, for instance, an entry-level sedan, then the discount (in absolute terms) might not be that attractive to entice buyers in giving up agent warranties and PI's counterparty risks.
