Guys and gals,

Have anyone done this before? Getting a jerry can or some proper petrol container and filled it up with petrol in jb,put it in the boot and drive back to sg?
Lets say its about less than 10 litres of petrol. Will the guys at customs stop us(for smuggling petrol?)? Just wanna know cause I am very suaku. Thanks in advance.

not a good idea. that $1 you save per litre does not justify the increased risk and danger. I do not remember any rules regarding crossing customs with petrol in the boot but the insurance company does not pay if there is a fire accident involving the carriage of petrol.

if you keen, i have other methods to get round this problem.

PM me.

The issue about is the possibility of a splash/spill in the event of a crash. Engine oil is not a problem as its flash point is much higher compared to petrol. If you really keen on carrying some spare fuel then the BMW jerry can that piggy is talking about seems like the safest alternative. The jerry can will be protected by the surrounding spare tire. The main take away is to look for a resin tank that resists knocks and bumps without cracking. Look for a really tight cap too. the smell of fuel can really reek for days and days if it starts to drip onto carpets and such...

Thanks guys! How much is PML/BMW selling the spare tank or jerry can anyway?
