hi,
got a friend done his new 5s with permagard.

After completed, the car has a very glossy looking coating and color look deeper, even look better than the car was collected from pml.
It did help to cover most of the swirl marks (though new car) which was believe the artwork left over by pml.

but very ex... $800++ with 2 years warranty with 1 free touch up treatment after 12 months.

I read that for used cars, they will apply a "treatment" to remove existing residue and swirl marks etc, then apply a coat of permaguard.

But i agree with u...its too steep. ANy understanding on washing your car etc ? For example, must use their car wash stuff or any brand will do ?
