performance exhaust for E90

Hi all, need some pointer & views from you all.

I understand that performance exhaust only has only 2 hanging point whereas stock has 3. My concern is will it cause unnecessary stress to the rear hanging point?

I notice that the rubber are being stretch more than usual. Im just afraid that it may break one day. Will it be advisable to custom make back the front hanging point or just leave it?

Below are the pic:

Thanks in advance ~~ :)

FR:

Ive welded back the front left hanging point & now it looks better & safer.

Really dont understand why Performance only sets 2 hanging point where by there are 3??

Bro / Sis that think of using this exhaust, do take note on.

Cheers! :)

Dun worri so much.....

Actually there is a much cheaper way to strengthen the rubber bushings........just use 2 big cable tie......go round the bushing, tighten it & wala!!

Did this for one of the bro's E92 335....2yrs on, cable tie still intact & bushings shows no wear.......

Pls dont intro me shabby job .. :nutkick: (just joking)

Anyway, before welding e "lost" hanging point, the exhaust tip r pointing down. Even my wife (who dunno anything bout mobbing / cars etc) says tat e exhaust looks funny  Now its more sexy ~~~

Thanks for sharing ~~

ps: a metal adjustable collar / connector (which most ppl / workshop uses for connecting open pod to throttle body) r better material as compares with cable tie ~~ :p :p :p

Re: performance exhaust for E90

i find the performance exhaust tip is pointing low, resulting a gap between the bumper.
please post your exhaust tip position from rear (close up & not so close up)

Re: performance exhaust for E90

thanks for the picture.
the 'large' gap between exhaust tips and diffuser is the "obstacle" that stop me from committing performance exhaust for the vroom vroom sound
guess eisennman is the answer liao ... but too ex :(

Hi wt_know, dont mention..

Actually it looks alrite but have to custom weld e front left hanging point back. Gap all round are around 1 finger. Depend on how you view it lar.. :)

Reason why its lower is bcos the muffler box are larger than stock thus will push it down alittle. By pushing it upwards may not b advisable as it may / or cause the connection part (mid pipe to muffler box) area leak.

So far so good & Frankly speaking, its not as loud as wat most have claim. Or im too hardcore? Hee... :D :D :D

Perhaps when time permit, we can meet up & let u see / molest it.. This friday may have a session with some old kakies @ CV last kopi tiam.. If u available & nearby do popby..

FR: still not as loud as wat I thot but am loving e mid ~ high range. Very willing to go! (Was given a summon for speeding too  ) Nice exhaust for those who do not wish to have a loud noise & attention seeking.

Cheers!

Re: performance exhaust for E90

the lift-up is much better now making the tips proportionally positioned closer to the diffuser.
now i'm itchy ... haha
any shaking or vibration from the tips/muffler?

Hi wt_know, thanks.. :)

So far no shaking or vibration. I get FK to torch e front right hanger so tat it can be lifted up alittle & I also ask them to tie all 3nos hanging rubbers with cable tie to stop it from dropping any lower.. ( Thanks to wilman2772 for e tinker :) )

Do take note: need to weld the front left hanging point in order to have a balance for all hanging point. On & all, additional spending is $20.00 :yummie: besides the cost for the exhaust, installation, transfer & inspection. Sibei wu hua mod! (for me lar) hee...

Will be attending this sunday meeting up (miss too many liao) Shall let u see, molest it till then.

Cheers!!
