Painting of Rims to Black

Hi All
Any idea if this works well?
Want to paint my existing rims to black. Current one is a new design stock for E90.
Have any of the guys tried painting the rims before?
Does te colour fade or chip of or easily gets scratched ?

yes they will chip.

will chip but not that fast or easily unless your daily commute is on gravel roads. Even so, you can respray it again cheaply.

M using Advan rims now, it was chrome n I got in painted black..
No problem at all still looks good after 10mths..
I got it done at LS tyre..

i had my rims painted by aut.vo. n is very lasting no worry i spray 2 colour gloss black ring with center matt matetic gray finish, i had is washed many time n still look new cos they spray primer before they apply the paint so tat it wont chip off so easy , u can look for chris, he give me alot of good idea , not always matt black n is too many on road liao

Actually my reason for painting is
A. I need wash wheels almost every 3 days as too much brake dust....
B. Planning to mod if things so black would look great..

@M5s & @Chopardgtxl ... Guys any indication of how much wasthe total cost and how long it took?

Bro u can consider using them to spray your rims as the remover the tires before they spray n speed balance it before they put back. Is like brand new rims man when u got back. look for the operation manager he will help u

I have repainted my rims to black at Leong Seng. Been about 5 months and yet to notice any chips. However they must be very careful when they mount the rims back, one of my rims has a slight chip due to a dropped tool and you can see the silver underneath. Total was about $400ish. I was also recommended to go to Ah Long but his charges were a bit on the high side.

I am heading to AutoVox,and will do it there next week....
Exactly this is what I was wondering, if the paint job is not good, when you get the tyre on in that process maximum damage can be done.
Let's hope for the best....

I have glossy black rims and brake dust is still a problem..

I DIY spray-painted mine to matte black. The paint will flake off esp along the rim's circumference. I just patch up the flakes as and when with the spare paint.
