opt to buy a 96, 320I, cabriolet

Pal,

Any advise for this? They are calling for 75K with a new 10 yr COE.. 4 owners, mileage abt 145K. paper value now is S$57K exclude the body...

I have check around and most of them do not want to buy this cab. 230I due to its 9yrs old and single air-bag.

Well, this dealer claims that the body is still worth 15K......( I don really believe him..)

Any suggestions?

CK

Hi, its sliver, auto and has bbs rims???.... has been around for at least 1 yr.... its simply not worth it...do your math. If the dealer says the body is worth 15k, tell him yr friends want to scrap his for 15k...ask him to take in.

Re: opt to buy a 96, 320I, cabriolet

Hi i think Sknight is refering to the 318, as for the 320 its blue in colour right... I think wat sknight say is true, do a maths with the fig, i would say its really a rare car but the price might not be wonderful... just my thought, no flamming.... Cheer :)

Re: opt to buy a 96, 320I, cabriolet

frankly a 10 yr old beemer will only be worth a few thousand at best unless the mileage is super low, just remember that the moment you buy the car its worth only the COE which is abt 12 to 13k now. so better to buy a newer car.

cheers

Re: opt to buy a 96, 320I, cabriolet

A 10yr COE car costing 75k would really have to something special!

I know cabrios command a better body price - but 10 yr old ones only can go to 3rd world countries, moreover its an E36.

Like Diablo says... the moment you take over, your paper value is 12k. That's fine if you calculate based on depre of 7.5k/yr, and willing to drive it for a looong time. Sell it after a while, your depre will be definitely high enough for you to already consider driving an E46 instead.

Re: opt to buy a 96, 320I, cabriolet

4 owners... the car got no body value liao... only the paper... try selling your car when you are the 4th owner...

Re: opt to buy a 96, 320I, cabriolet

Thanks for all your advise. I have decided not to make the procurement..It looks silly for myself to drive the car for 2 years and try to sell later in the mkt...Likely, the call-price might be only paper value+ say 10K extra. Looks like my budget gonna go for a 03, valve tronic..
Cheers....
