Opinions needed: M-Tech II Kit for Pre-FL Coupe

Just wanna seek views if fellow BMW drivers sees value in the M-Tec II kit.
The kit cost about $4,000 inclusive of painting and installation at PML.

Given that the E46 coupe is at the end of its prouduct life cycle, do you guys think that it's worth it? I mean, the $4k could be saved for the next car etc.

Would a BMW with M kit fetch better resale in your opinion?

ALthough body kits are a v subjective thing, just wanna seek some views.

Must say that the sports edition 330Ci in the showroom looks v hot and I am tempted by it.

4k is rather expensive for the whole job. If I were you, I would just order the parts from PML and have the kits sprayed elsewhere. I am sure u can save about 500bux at least. If I aint mistaken the kits would cost between 2.5-3K whereas the spray job is probably bout 500bux or so.

IMO, u need to ask yourself, how long are you goin to own the car for? If for long then by all means go for it but get em sprayed elsewhere.

Having said that, however, you may wish to know that since alot of these E46 are being scrapped , so perhaps u may see some used ones on sale in the market later on. From my experience, it's very uncommon so far to come by a used set of M-Tech II kits and even if there is, I can assure you that it will be taken very quickly due to the rarity.

If u ask me whether a car with body kit will fetch better resale value...I suppose yes coz after all, it's added accessories but how much is another story.

Gd Luck

Lets put it this way, I do not think that selling the kit one the car will fetch you a better value. most people I know in fact sell the body kits separately, so I guess they get better returns that way.

Yeah, there are cases that way, seen that too.

M-Tech II kit definitely! Your pre-FL probably no longer under PML warranty, so get the kit, spray it outside, install it outside. Save you easily $500-$800.

When you sell the car, the kit will still be worth something. If you have space problems storing your kit, PM me, can work something out... :) Go for it!

Having the kit may not increase your car resale value but will definitely make your car more desirable and that will make it much easier to sell for the same price(quick turnaround time)..........;)

Cheers!.
