One Stupid Question:

I have this INSPECTION word light up in my display (E36) but there are still 3 green bars to my next service. Any idea why it light up? Should I be extremely worried????

it means by the time the 3 bars are up, you've gotta go to an inspection, and not an oil service. after this inspection is done, and the meter resetted, you may see an "oil service" word, telling you the next coming service is an oil service, not inspection. it's alternate.

I think the INSPECTION is for bodywork. I got it before for my E36 also.. it's based one yearly instead of mileage... Can safely strike it off if u r confident there is no apparent rust on the car...

yep, when u go for inspection service in PML, they will also check the car bodywork for rust, corrosion and other defects in addition to the oil service things like oil change, filter change etc...
