one side higher than another?

Hi,

Read in previous thread that our ride tends to be lower on the driver side than the passenger side but can use coilover to compensate for it by adjusting the height individually. however, will this have any side effect since that in order for the car to look even on both side, the coilover got to be one side lower than the other...thanks and appreciate any input...

Depends on how big you are and are you in the car at the point when reference is being made ...............

chim but i try to answer. I am not too big,ard 65kg. Some always say i shld eat more kind...sorry to ot but i just like to make both wheel gap even when i am out of the car for lookwise purpose. If both coilover are adjusted to similar heights, automatically the right is slightly lower than the left...same with stock suspension.

Just jousting earlier......I tried measuring the bottom of the rim to the bottom of the fender intersecting the centre of the wheel and then using that measurement to try and make it precise on all 4 wheels........doesn't look nice though its quite exact.

In the end - adjusted based on the good old - 'x' fingers in front and 'y' finger at the rear from the bottom of the fender to the top of the tyre .....and got it over and done with. Looks nicer but in reality the car is probably not balanced but this is the price you pay for vanity........And I don't drive that fast anyway so the chassis balance stuff doesn't matter to me.......

Hi Red Bean Bun,

I just changed to lowering springs on my E90.

The front is great, well balance, but back of the car is wrong, the gap between the tire and the wheel arch is different from one side to the other by approx one finger..

It is spring, not adjustable...so no cure?

Re: one side higher than another?

to adjust car height to your desire, the answer is coilover. period.

You could raise one side by adding in a spring pad for the shorter side ....... this is the safer route.
