Obit for Sale

Well-Known Member
Just removed the 2 month old OBit from my car. Fully functioning.
Will consider selling it for $450 ( new $950 ).
Interested can pm me. Thanks.

Re: Obit for Sale

Any reason for selling it?

Cheers!

Re: Obit for Sale

Expected the question.
Two months ago, when I installed Obit, the HIOP tuning package for my car was still unavailable and nobody knows when it would be. Now it is.
Just want to try it out as my previous ride had HIOP DME program and I liked it.
Also, I am uncertain if I want to change car. Presently my 730i and is rather heavy. Despite Obit having a definite positive effect in performance, I want to know if the HIOP program can give me even more power. This will have an effect on my decision as to sell the car or not.

Re: Obit for Sale

Sam,

Does the OBIT can be retrofitted into any model of bimmers?? Or they come specifically for specific model?

Thanks Barry

Re: Obit for Sale

If I'm not wrong, BVO charges about $300 - $350 for the installation and tuning. The entire costs will probably work out to be around $800. IMO it then make more sense to get a new one.

Re: Obit for Sale

So buying off the shelf from BVO..will cost the same price..hmm 800-900 with installation?

Re: Obit for Sale

Think it's around $900- $1000. But I may be wrong so don't flame me.

Re: Obit for Sale

That's right. The Obit when new is about $950. I am not sure what is the installation charge but $300 to $400 is a good guess.
Obit can be used for all car models, ie not model specific.

Re: Obit for Sale

I think BVO will charge $400 to install and tune a used Obit. At least that was the quote given to me.

Re: Obit for Sale

Basically better pull from about 2.5K rpm and the revs rise much faster. At max torque at about 3.5K rpm, there is a sort of push at the back, sort of like a VTEC transition. I have reported my experience with Obit in an earlier thread.
However, FC for my 3 litre car went down from 9 km/litre to between 7 to 8.5. Still, this is to be expected.
