My 335's service interval indication started at 25,000km and had been gradually going down to 19,000km when 2 days ago I realised it went the other way showing 36,000km:screwedu: :screwedu: :screwedu: :whythis:  :( :furious:

Should I send it back to PML to checko wats the problemato or just get the guys at J4C to reset the damn thing?:juggle:

oh dear.....that is one problem with bmw cars i fear so much...the engine is fantastic, the handiling is fantastic....

but the amount of electronic gadgetry in the car is astounding but not reliable......your car made in germany somemore...still got electronic faults...... ...makes me worry each time i consider the blue and white propeller........

hope u get it resolved soon.....

yeah lah these type of things really take the joy out of driving. nevermind next time I change to LEXUS like you...hehe

Re: OBC Service interval 'siao liao'

i think there are some kind of sensors to determine how dirty the oil is, i hear sometimes it goes up and most of the time it counts down.... so i guess you'll have to ask your CSA about it

Re: OBC Service interval 'siao liao'

36000 seems crazy, talk to the SA, unless you changed engine oil.

The newer engines have a an oil quality sensor now which compares the capacitance of the oil over time. As chips and other contaminants build up the capacitance changes indicating a "dirtier oil to the car. The condition based servicing actually helps to determine when the car actually has dirty oil rather than just follow the fixed intervals as in the past. If you did not change/top up oil it should not go back up and in my opinion it should be back to max 25000 anyway.

Hi Ah beng driver....i heard from friends that sometimes when you whack the engine hard, the obc will show a much faster decrease in service interval then when you go back to normal driving, it may actually increase. Hope this helps :)
