Hey guys...just wanna ask a quick question....is it possible to retain the existing number plate and NOT register it immediately on a new car?

I am thinking of selling of my ride but I wanna keep the plate...however..I'm not going to register any car immediately...but surely within the 6 months which I'm allowed to hold the plate...so is it possible?

call LTA or go one motoring website.

I think you can keep the number for up to 1 year. but you have to pay 1300 and get a refund of 1200 after you register the old plate to your new car.
