I have always perceived the financial industry as one manufacturing nothing physical but GREED and FEAR. As with the stock market. Oh yes, property market too !!! And any other form of investment.
Sure, we can argue until the cow comes home that other investments are REAL ASSET investment but the evil financial industry manufactures products to capture your GREED and FEAR.
Then again, I open up my wallet, I see credit cards. It is evil, cause it encourages credit expansion and leverage. If I overspend, should I blame the banks for issuing them? Better not hold any credit cards. They are evil.
I look at the stock market. If everyone is purely investing for the long haul, why are property stocks trading at a premium to their net asset value? The efficient market theory says we should shut down the stock market and go venture cap style. Better not engage in stocks. They are evil.
I look at the property market. Time after time, bubble bursts, and people over-leveraged. So the banks should be blamed for the financing. They are evil.
