Hi All,

Need some advices from Expert here. Now, i have a problem with my DME and happen 2 found belong to previous owner (thanks to him for leaving me 1)

then, I found that there are 3 ECU chips (he might have brought them earlier) & 1 more on the DME itself.

My questions: Which one is stock?

On DME: PN: 1 267 357 063
Another BMW PN: 1 267 357 098
Another Flashable EPROM: M27C256B-20F7

last: no flashable(no window on top): AM27C256-120PC

Not sure what all these are for.

And there is another DME in my CAR>>> AGR:juggle:

DME PCB Cleaning - Operation

Just for information:

I have replace my DME with an old DME with the chip PN: 1 267 357 063. My ride is working, felt a bit heavy but acceptable. So, i operated on the problem "DME"

This is what i found. After taking the DME apart. Notices that it equiped with a "Super Chip" or maybe some after market performance chip. ( Imagine, the E36 is with this chip + OBIT, double power!!! hahaha)

Notice some corrosion on the bottom board, (pic: 5233.jpg) and some pins on the solderpart of the external interface pins. Clean it up and re-solded the joint.

Will Post the cleaned PCB next....( need to buy a PCB cleaner from simlim tower...)

TO BE CONTINUE/.....

Re: DME PCB Cleaning - Operation

Ok. It's been too long. I havent have time to update this.

After many attempts to fix it, I have change it to the chip no: 1 267 357 098. It's been running for the last 6mths. No problem so far. Cheers.

Will closed this tread now. Please dont reply thanks. If you have question, send me an email.
