Anyone noticed that music volume gets louder with speed increase? How do you set it to be constant instead of fluctuating hahahahhaa

It is to compensate for road noise. Should be adjustable under volume setting in idrive...think it is called speed volume.

I think min is 1. From 150km/h to 50km/h, u will still notice the dif.

1) the front passenger Headrest - how to lower it ... no matter how i try still can see the 2 mental ...the driver side ok can lower all the way

2) Audio - what kind of setting do you all use ? i only know how to listen dunno how to tune it back passenger cant hear much and no surround sound ...

I saw in the vehicle spec sheet (VIN decoder) that the car is equipped with extended BMW Online features (weather, google search etc)

But this feature seems to be deactivated by PML/BMW Asia - I can't find it on the menu even after updating the services available. All i get is Internet & Teleservices :hmmidont:

Anyone able to see/use BMW online?

it's not a big deal, it just make searching for places easier

BMW already support this in their latest iteration of Connected Drive / Assist. Using the Google send to car and iPhone app. However in Singapore the LTA hasn't and I was told won't approve it for local use. I tried to option it when I ordered my car but the only allowable options are Internet / BMW media connect 6NF option code. 6NR would give you all the toys and connectivity to control elements of your car using the iPhone app.

The 6NR option can be fitted locally - some hardware and software will be upgraded - but it can be done.

Basically, it allows you to connect to the BMW CONNECTED app on the iPhone. Besides that, it allows you to play videos etc...

Not a cheap option to add but its available.

I was able to connect iPod classic using standard apple usb cable to the car USB and it plays fine, also shows cover art/picture... will try for ipod video capability later today, not sure can or not (most likely cannot)

Update: without 6NR no ipod video although my current unit can play DVD fine.

iDrive Navigation - 2012 map

When i first collected my ride a month ago, I was playing with the navigation a lot, but find the turn-by-turn announcement irritating coz it will mute the music, announce the turn, then resume the music. In the end I turn off the voice guidance.

But recently, i hand itchy go enable it again and realise the voice guidance did not mute the music but rather soften the music only.. I seriously cannot remember what I did...

So I want ask if anyone know how to turn on/off this feature?

I found some article online regarding this retrofit, for cars that are already equipped with the combox (navigation unit), and the phone cradle, to retrofit 6NR need to run one cable from the headunit/combox to the phone cradle unit... the rest is just software license & activation, unfortunately, unlike the map update, this one have to use the ISTA/P to code in the activation code & feature enabling...

You're quite right, not a big job if you have S609 and the combox 6VA.

Alas the distributor here for Bimmertech stuff wants literally "an arm & a leg".

ISTA/P can find hacked version online and buy or make your own cable (RJ45 to OBD) to do the coding.

for maps you need FSC code to activate. FSC code either buy from BMW or online where there are people selling FSC codes which they generate themselves.
