the colour is actually to match the tiger year CNY

"While BMW is celebrating 25th year of the release of it’s BMW M3 model, new special models are coming up. One of those is the current BMW M3 edition headed over to China, named “BMW M3 Tiger Edition” which coincides with the Chinese Year of the Tiger. Unique exterior and special features are rounded up by the Fire Orange Metallic paintwork already seen on the M3 GTS model."
