Newbie to this forum and 520i questions

Hi all Bros and Sis,

I am new here and has been going thru some of the interesting posting.

Currently, is deciding whether to get a second hand E60 520i (y2004). Understand there are inherent problems of engine stalling and unable to start due to some software issues in the earlier days. But like to find out from existing 2004/5 model owners are these problems solved?

Your contructive feedbacks will be deeply appreciated.

hi ,

i myself still driving a 2004 520i... no problems with stalling issues... software problem is solved long long time ago...its reliable car for me...nothing big goes wrong... but things that goes wrong are predictable at this stage...so PML or other workshops can settles promptly...

my only complain is that the 520i actually got same fuel consumption as my friends 530i which is 7.9km/L and the 520i is powerless...nice to drive...sufficient... but lack of that oomph on those days u feeling itchy...

My previous car was a E60 520 from the very first batch brought in in Dec 2003. No problems at all, including the then-untried Active Steering.
