Newbee and need help about airbag lights

Hello!

Sorry to have to post a question on my first visit here.

I just bought an 8 year old 2005 320i. I must be jinx. Right after collecting my car, noticed it jerks when I stop. Think it's gear change (from 1 to 2 or 2 to 1) problem. And there was a rattling sound on low speed. Sent back to dealer and they said it gear box problem and luckily there's 6 mths warranty on major parts so they changed it. But rattling is suspension and would cost me $600 so I said to leave it first. Need to ask my husband but he is away. But cup tray was broken so paid $200 to change that and wipers (which I noticed was not cleaning well especially in the heavy rain). Anyway, Picked it up today and as I was driving and adjusting my seat, the airbag and seatbelt faulty light came on!

I googled and read that it might be a sensor issue. What should I do? Is there somewhere reasonably priced I can go to for them to take a look. Will PML even entertain me?

you may also try this few workshop: 2277, BVO, R2D.........( goggle it )

The connector underneath your driver seat most probably came loose, so it's a common problem.

Just bring it to one of the bmw specialist workshop, and ask them to check the connection first. Some will tell you you need to change airbag strip or main module etc. Bring it to R2D (North), or M&Q (East) they will not try to fleece you unlike others. Their contact is all over this forum.

Btw an 8 year old 320i is likely to be beset with a lot of other maintenance issues, unless you are so lucky the previous owner maintain it very well. Need to budget some $ for wear and tear and proper maintenance to last you another 2 years.
